Get to work this morning, and get to my personal spot, and find this 4Runner in mine. So today instead of getting the idiot towed, I boxed him in. ( I don’t tow on the first time i catch them)

Kinja'd!!!

So now I took pictures of him/her and his plate, incase he/she rams my car to leave.

Once they come in my office to ask me to move my car, I will make the person wait till i’m ready to move my car. Yes I’m an asshole but I pay to park there. From now on i’m keeping my tow strap in my pathfinder, and will move them myself.

p.s. I work in that grey building in the background.

You pay for a personal spot at your workplace? Hmmm, I'd love to have a personal/assigned space at work. Provided, of course, I could pick where it is (end of an aisle next to a curb).

If I’m honest, I started reading this thinking you were kind of being a dick for getting worked up about “your” spot, but then I got to the part where you mention you pay for it, it’s actually yours, not “yours.” So yeah, I’d be pretty cheesed if someone parked in a spot I was paying for. I might have gone straight for the tow.

Just some advice, though: I wouldn’t try to move anyone’s car yourself. That’s just asking for trouble.

I work downtown and parking spots are impossible to find, meters meters everywhere,

The owner of the building owns the lot. So officially my jobs has zero parking spots. costs me 40.00 $ per month

that’s also why i took the last spot at the end, normally people never park at the end.

I pay because I don’t want to play lets find a spot every morning.

If you pay to park there, then boxing them in is way nicer than getting it towed. Any reasonable person should feel guilty and learn their lesson this way. If they do it again, I’d have it towed.

not gonna tow myself. Just like keying a car, things you don’t actually do... But you wish you don’t give a fuck and do anyway.....

On the plus side, that asshole sure has a beautiful car.

Just needs to clean the brake dust off of the wheels.

After some bad experiences in college, I have an impassioned hatred of people who take up others assigned and paid for parking spots. I actually cheer when I see people get towed from them. You’re a nicer person than I.

Don’t move other peoples’ vehicles though. It’s not worth winding up in court.

I already got death threats for towing someone many years ago....

I had a similar philosophy with my old outside spot. My spot was handicapped and it had my name on it. Unfortunately, I found over time that people didn't learn from their one mulligan and would repeat offend when they thought they could get away with it. I ended up having to have a couple people towed, which makes a bad day for everyone involved. I hope your maneuver fixes the problem.

so do I,

It’s time to go see if they rammed my pathfinder to get out.....

Remember, if anyone utters the phrase “I was just running in”, I believe you are legally obligated to punch them in the face.

Genuine question here - by blocking the offender in, did you also block other people in and make it difficult for even more people to get out of the lot?

I’ve been stuck in a lot when people were “parked” in the drive lane because their “parked” vehicle made it impossible for me to back out. That’s just as bad as someone stealing my spot, well, that is, if I had a spot. As it is, I have my preferred space and get bent when someone beats me to the office and takes it.

I’m assuming you know who the person is? I know you have pictures and all, and they parked in your space that you pay for, but I would not be willing to risk some psycho coming out and smashing my car, driving away, and having to involve the police and probably a lawyer, to have my car forever tarnished by the fact that it’s had a major repair... all so that someone learns their lesson about taking your spot.

Towing might actually be less confrontational, and possibly less risky.

no I would never block anybody else. I hate it when they do it. I only do this if I don’t block any of my coworkers.

And then Wacko feels awkward when the boss’ daughter comes in crying, “Daddy, someone blocked my car in!”

No idea who he is, that’s why I took pictures of his plates, his bumper and the side of my car.

I would only have to call the cops and call my insurance if he would of done something. My insurance would sue his insurance...

I went to see from the top story window

Kinja'd!!!

still there, then walking back to my office I get the call

Kinja'd!!!

I so wanted to make the guy wait an hour or two, but no I’m not that much of an asshole. While we were walking to the parking spots he says He was out last night drinking, I told him, no problem, but If you do park here again move your car before 8am since we start coming in to work. I also said others tow so be careful.

So my car is back in my spot, no fights, no arguments.
